Webinars are presented on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please check the links for presentation times and subject matter. Webinars are free of charge.
Workshops are one or two days in length and are taught in person by DoorKing technical personnel at various locations throughout the country. Prior registration is required for these workshops – no walk-ins are allowed. Please check the links for upcoming locations. There is a $50.00 fee for two-day workshops. The fee for single day workshops is $25.00.
Health and Safety protocols will be in affect per State and Venue (hotel) requirements.
In-person training workshops and seminars are open only to authorized DoorKing dealers and distributors.

These workshops provide training to install, operate and maintain DoorKing access control and vehicular gate operating products. All of our training workshops include updates on UL 325, ASTM F2200 and UL 294 standards as they apply to DoorKing products so that installers and system designers are up to date on current industry safety standards and requirements.
Training workshops begin promptly at 7:30 AM and continue to approximately 4:00 PM each day (unless otherwise noted), so be prepared for one or two full days of training. Workshop class size is limited and they do fill quickly, so register at your earliest convenience.
Open only to authorized DoorKing dealers and distributors. Registration links will be LIVE once we have confirmation on the dates and venues.

DoorKing live training workshops and webinars* are recognized by the AFA and IDEA and allow you to earn continuing education hours to maintain your AFA and IDEA certifications. Continuing Education (CE) hours awarded are dependent on the training program you attend and the length of that program.
* You must be present for the entire webinar to earn CE hours. Attendance and polling questions are used to insure your presence throughout the webinar.
Hands-on Workshops 1 or 2 Days
The hands-on workshop offers training focusing on DoorKing gate operators, telephone entry and access control systems and is very useful to train technicians on the emerging technologies in telecommunications, including cellular, VoIP and other wireless technologies. These are full day sessions that focus on installation, wiring and programming, with attendees working with live equipment. One day will focus on gate operators and one day will focus on access control systems.

| Day 1 | Access Control Workshop: Attendees work with an 1830 series controller, card readers and tracker boards to build a working access control system. |
| Day 2 | Gate Operator Workshop: Work stations are set up with various DoorKing gate operator models. Attendees will wire various types of controls and accessories into the gate operator to set up a fully functional gate system. |
| *When the two Full Day Sessions are combined, attendees will tie their access control system from Day 1 into the gate system for a fully interactive system. | |
Distributor Days
These are typically a half or full day, held at the distributor’s location. They are not hands on, but more informative in nature. Ordinarily the Regional Manager will use power points and handouts to focus on selected products or product groups.
Distributor Days are great ways for Dealers to keep up on new products and get valuable training for sales and technical staff. These seminars may include product demonstrations.

Regional Seminars
This is a full day classroom style seminar held at a Hotel meeting facility. These seminars provide information on new products as well as valuable sales and technical training on various DoorKing systems. These seminars ARE NOT hands on training but more lecture on various topics such as:
- Gate Operator Service, Trouble Shooting, & Maintenance.
- Gate Operator Installation • Parking Gate and P.A.M.S. systems.
- Entry Systems Installation.
- Understanding Cellular, Internet (VoIP) and other connection methods.
- Video Entry Systems.
- 1830 Series Access Control Systems.
- Wireless Expansion – setting up and troubleshooting.
- Systems Programming; security levels, elevator control, time zones, ect.
- Working with the Cloud.
- Understanding industry safety standards, UL325, ASTM F2200 and others.
Each Regional Seminar will focus on 2 or 3 of these modules as may be appropriate for the region. Lunch is provided.

Certifications for Automated Vehicular Gate Industry Professionals
Two associations offer certification credentials for persons in the automated vehicular gate systems industry. The American Fence Association (AFA) offers Gate Automation Designer and Gate Automation Technician certifications. The Institute for Dealer Education and Accreditation (IDEA) is an independent 3rd party association that offers Automated Gate Systems Designer, Automated Gate Operator Installer, Automated Gate System Technician Level 1 and Automated Gate System Technician Level 2 certifications.
