The Wireless Internet Connection Option for Entry Systems

Cellular is a flexible, wireless solution for connecting System Managers and Users to their Access Control System.

While the eVolve Series has built-in Cellular compatibility, The optional DKS Cellular™ Control Box provides Voice communication to all other DKS Entry Systems* through a cellular network, much like a mobile phone. The Cellular connection also enables completely remote programming for DKS Entry Systems in the 1830 Series and Access Plus Series using one of the DKS Easy Connect Programming options. The Cellular Connection Box is easy to install and sets up with instant access. Cellular is the perfect option for locations that do not have access to an internet line and don’t want to dig a trench to add one, properties with remote access points, or users who want to update from their original POTS connection – plus, it’s more affordable than a traditional business line.
The DKS Cellular Control Box operates on the AT&T 4G-LTE cellular network (where available), and as such, a monthly subscription fee applies (just like your cell phone). The DKS Cellular service provides very competitive monthly rates for your cellular service and is available in all states including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and all U.S. Territories, Canada, and Mexico.

The DKS Cellular Control Box may not be compatible with some older Telephone Entry Systems without a circuit board upgrade for the Entry System. Find a DKS Dealer to understand your Cellular Retrofit options.

The DKS Cellular Control Box is one of the two supported Internet connection options available today, the other option being a VoIP connection. These two options replace the original POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) connection that was expensive to install and maintain. and is no longer being supported today.  The cellular control box eliminates the need for expensive long wire runs (trenching) that typically provide voice and data communications.  DKS Cellular control boxes easily connect to DoorKing 1800, Access Plus, and 1830 Series telephone entry systems replacing old fashion POTS telephone lines and eliminating the need for RS232, RS485, Ethernet and other expensive wiring means.  Typical business phone lines run between $60 to $120 per month, PLUS the expense of long distance charges.  Using VoIP?  You still need a VoIP provider (another monthly expense) plus the cost of trenching to run ethernet cabling to the entry system.  DKS Cellular control boxes eliminate the need for costly trenching and long wire runs, and in many instances the monthly cellular fees are less than that of an old fashion (soon to be obsolete) business land line.

 

Models 1800-080 and 1800-081

offer a full capable cellular interface that provides both voice communication and programming via the AT&T 4G-LTE Cellular network. It is important to understand that the DKS Cellular service is the only service that will allow you to “push” the programming data directly from your computer to the entry system via the cellular network – a true machine to machine (M2M) connection. Other systems claim they can be programmed via the cellular network, but this is accomplished with a series of text messages (Imagine trying to program hundreds of telephone numbers, names, card codes, holiday schedules, permission levels, hold open time zones, elevator control parameters, etc. with text messages) sent to the entry system, or by other wired connection means. The ability to push the data directly from the computer to the entry system via the cellular network makes the DKS Cellular service unique in the industry.

Use the 1800-080 with the following DKS entry systems: 1802, 1802-EPD, 1803, 1808, 1810, 1812, 1833, 1834, 1835, 1837, 1838.

Use the 1800-081 with the following DKS Access Plus entry systems: 1802-AP, 1808-AP, 1810-AP, 1812-AP, 1838-AP with Access Plus Account Manager software, Version 1.07 A or higher.

    1830 & AP Series
    Voice and Data connection provides voice and programming over the cellular connection! For 1830 Series and Access Plus systems.
    Voice connection for standard systems

    Eliminate the POTS line and replace with a cellular connection. Can be used with 1802, 1803, 1808, 1810 and 1812 systems.

    Choose a cellular connection for access devices in remote locations, or install a Retrofit Cellular Kit to upgrade entry systems from an old POTS connection.

    • 1800-081: For use with Access Plus systems – Use the DoorKing Access Plus Programming software to program the entry system, version 1.07.A or higher.
    • Require registration and subscription fee on the DKS Cellular network.

    Note: DKS Cellular devcies cannot be used for 911 calls.  DKS Cellular control boxes may not be compatible with older telephone entry systems.  Using a cellular control box on an older system may require a circuit board upgrade for the telephone entry system.

     

    VOICE & DATA (PROGRAMMING)
    • Models 1800-080 and 1800-081 are a fully capable cellular interface that provides both voice communication and programming via the AT&T 4G-LTE Cellular network.
    • DKS Cellular service will “push” the programming data directly from the browser based DKS Cloud Account Manager (or from a dedicated computer through the desktop Remote Account Manager software) to the entry system via the cellular network.
    • Use the 1800-080 with the following DoorKing entry systems: 1833, 1834, 1835, 1837, 1838.
    • Use the 1800-081 with the following DoorKing entry systems: 1802AP, 1808AP, 1810AP, 1812AP, 1838AP, 1802, 1803, 1808, 1810, 1812.
    AT&T 4G LTE NETWORK
    • Both cellular models operate on the AT&T 4G-LTE cellular network (where available).
      A monthly subscription fee applies, just like your cell phone. DKS Cellular service provides very competitive monthly rates for your cellular service.
    • DKS Cellular service is available in all states including Alaska and Hawaii. It is also available in Puerto Rico, U.S. Territories, Canada and Mexico.
    • DKS Cellular service is not available in other countries.
